Supervisor's Report
The Township has signed up for the Fourth of July parade and Supervisor Barnes passed out an article about the Evanston Township Budget.

Latino Advisory Committee
Trustee Douglas reported that a gentleman attended last Monday's meeting who had called a number he was given by an instructor of his ESL class at the High School and inquired about help in obtaining eyeglasses. He was told that eyeglass services were not available and thought he was treated discourteously. Trustee Douglas explained that since the gentleman was speaking Spanish, he was getting the information by translation from other committee members. It was unclear as to whether he had called the Township or another agency. Trustee Moreno reported that the number he was given was 432-3240 – the Township Office. She also reported that he had called the Lake County Health Dept. originally but that because he was unemployed (should not have impacted his ability to get service) could not be helped; however, he is now going to receive help from Olga at the Lake County Health Department. The next meeting of the committee is June 20.

Food Pantry and Pantry Plants
Supervisor Barnes has spoken to Olga Aguilar and Sam Piro and there is an informational session on Wednesday. Anton's will again give the Township a contribution of plantings. Everything is now coming together and the garden will be planted and cultivated.

Citizen Grant Advisory Committee
Checks are going out this week.

Lake County Coordinated Transportation Services
No Report

Trustee Douglas attended the meeting for Township Officials of Lake County. House Bill 268 was discussed, which concerns a committee to be established and report back to the Governor and General Assembly concerning the consolidation of government services. The Senate Bill introduced by Terry Link was defeated.

Unfinished Business
The work on Mooney Cemetery is almost completed, and as a result, the Township will have valuable information documenting the exact location of cemetery plots, bodies buried, tombstones, etc. The data will all be incorporated into the software in the office and each plot will be connected to the proper deeds and family history. There were two burials last month. In response to Trustee Douglas's question about the status of the drainage, Supervisor Barnes reported that she is conferring with various resources about new plantings that might help alleviate any further drainage problems. The Township has also been to visit Daggitt Cemetery as well, which is now historical and community protected; i.e., no more burials.

New Business

Executive Session

With no further business to conduct, Trustee Moreno moved, seconded by Trustee Douglas, the meeting be adjourned at 5:40 PM. Motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,

Ellen S. Gussin, Moraine Township Clerk
