Assessor's Report

Supervisor's Report
Supervisor Barnes reported on a meeting this morning of the Senior Task Force which meets quarterly and consists of social service providers and representatives from the City of Highland Park. Township's concern is that there is no social worker in place for the City, specifically at the Police Station; this was the discussion this morning, and now that a new City Manager is in place, Supervisor Barnes believes there will be progress on this issue.

More information will be available next meeting.

Latino Advisory Committee
Trustee Douglas reported that Trustee Moreno attended the last meeting but does not have any information as to what occurred.

Pantry Plants Garden Project
Plant Day is May 19 and 20. The National Council of Jewish Women has a group that will be tilling the soil on May 12, and the Anixter Center will have a volunteer group throughout the summer on Monday mornings.

The letter that has been used in the past to confirm the grants awarded to the various agencies will be used again, which states that the organization is required to appear before the Township Board once per fiscal year during the months of June through February.

Lake County Coordinated Transportation Services Committee (LCCTSC)
The committee's work continues as reported at previous meetings.

Human Relations Commission of Highland Park
Trustee Douglas stated that the Commission's focus has been two-fold as reported at previous meetings -- Character Counts and the Mayor of Highland Park's Task Force on Community Needs Assessment.

Community Family Center
Clerk Gussin reported that CFC is now meeting quarterly until resolution is reached on several new options for the Karger Center and the adjacent geographic space.
