TURKEYS FOR MORAINE TOWNSHIP PANTRY CLIENTS
Thanks to Highland Park Ford Lincoln

For the fifth consecutive year, Highland Park Ford Lincoln has donated 100 turkeys delivered by Schaul Farms to Moraine Township Food Pantry for distribution to income-qualified residents for their Thanksgiving celebration.

“As we remember how much we have to be grateful for over the holidays, Highland Park Ford Lincoln’s generosity and stalwart support for the Pantry is high on our list at the Pantry. We are fortunate to have such a caring corporate citizen in our community,” noted Anne Flanigan Bassi, Moraine Township Supervisor.

“We have been in Highland Park for decades and are pleased to give back to the community that has supported us all these years,” noted Marty Price and Al Frisch, Owners of Highland Park Ford Lincoln.

American Legion Post #145 also contributes to the Cornucopia of food the Pantry is able to supply for their families’ Thanksgiving celebration by providing funding for the Pantry to purchase ham and beef for Pantry clients who do not celebrate the holiday with turkey.

Many residents are unaware that food insecurity is an unfortunate reality in our community. One out of every four elementary students in Highland Park and Highwood qualify for the federal free/reduced lunch program at their school, and the Pantry receives over 7,300 resident-visits annually,” observed Moraine Township Trustee Amy Zisook.

Food Pantry Coordinator Linda Contreras commented that the Pantry is used by all age and cultural demographics in our community.

Moraine Township’s Food Pantry is supported by donations from the community and is open to all income-qualified Moraine Township residents. Clients are invited to visit the Pantry at 800 Central Avenue, Highland Park, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m., and other times by appointment.
