Coordinating Local Services
Moraine Township Supervisor, Trustees and Clerk serve as liaisons to committees in our region to help coordinate, collaborate and complement local services. Our aim is to close the gaps that can be closed by responsive local government.

Federal Programs Paperwork
Seniors are supported by the Township in understanding and navigating federal programs like Medicare and Medicaid. Contact Director of General Assistance, Tracy Coleman, for help by calling 847-432-3240.

Grants to Agencies
Moraine Township awards grants to outside agencies providing services to persons 65 years and older. See the list of recent grantees on our web site.

Health & Safety
Moraine Township's Door-to-Door paratransit vans provide seniors with low cost transportation to medical appointments, up to 15 miles outside Township borders. The Township also works closely with Lake County's local Health Center clinic to ensure that all residents have access to low cost medical services. Earlier, the Township also helped bring the Center to Highland Park (1840 Green Bay Road; phone 847-984-5333) in 2005 by making a capital grant of $100,000.

Life safety support is also a function of Moraine Township. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are made available through a cooperative program with the City of Highland Park Fire Department, extending also to homeowners in Highwood. Property Tax Relief

Transportation
Moraine Door-to-Door paratransit van service and our Taxi Coupon Program are among the best in the state. In fact, the program won an award in 2007. Find out more.
