The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., and upon roll call the following members were present: Supervisor Anne Flanigan Bassi, Trustees Dwayne Douglas and Amy Zisook.
Absent: Trustees Pablo Alvarez and Cindy Wolfson
Also present: Clerk Gail Feiger Brown

Public Comment
There was no public comment.

Approval of Minutes
Trustee Zisook moved, seconded by Trustee Douglas, Approval of the Minutes of the January 22, 2020 Regular Board Meeting. The motion passed unanimously by voice vote.

Approval of Bills
Trustee Douglas moved, seconded by Trustee Zisook, Approval of the bills for the period January 22-February 13, 2020 in the following amounts: $10,296.11 General Assistance Fund, $38,956.23 Town Fund. Voting Aye by Roll Call Vote: Supervisor Bassi, Trustees Douglas and Zisook; voting Nay: none.

Action Item
Acceptance of $40,000.00 Grant from Healthcare Foundation of Highland Park

Trustee Zisook moved, seconded by Trustee Douglas, Acceptance of a $40,000.00 Grant from the Healthcare Foundation of Highland Park for the Door-to-Door Van Service program. Voting Aye by Roll Call vote: Supervisor Bassi, Trustees Douglas and Zisook; voting Nay: none.

  • Supervisor's Report Anne Flanigan Bassi
    • Trustees were given a statement of Moraine Township bank balances as of December 31, 2019.
    • Trustees were given service reports for the 15-month November, 2018 through January, 2020.
    • Welcome to new webmasters Evelyn Gehrig and Olivia Alvarez, who are both are students at Highland Park High School.
    • The Mental Health First Aid Training that was held January 24 and 31 was a success. Several township supervisors and representatives from local human service agencies were in attendance.
    • VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) services began on February 8.
    • The Regular Board Meeting scheduled for May 28 will be changed to May 26.
    • Supervisor Bassi received an engagement letter from the Township’s auditors GRA (George Roach and Associates). The auditors will be re-engaged.
    • The swipeclock which came with our prior payroll tax processor is not compatible with the new payroll processer’s program. We are purchasing a new machine and related expanded services aligned with the new company. The cost of the machine is covered by insurance.
    • The table in the conference room cannot be repaired and is being replaced.

  • Food Pantry Report Anne Flanigan Bassi
    • Supervisor Bassi gave a presentation to students at Ravinia Elementary School. Students collected and donated 250 bags for the Pantry, including toiletries, house cleaning supplies and toilet paper, paper towels and tissues.
    • Thanks to North Suburban Synagogue Beth El for their Mitzvah Day donation of over 250 snack bags for Highland Park High School students, as well as toilet paper, paper towels, tissue and food for the Pantry.

With no further business to conduct, Trustee Douglas moved, seconded by Trustee Zisook that the meeting be adjourned at 7:52 p.m. The motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
