Nancy Chausow Shafer  

Nancy Chausow Shafer grew up in Highland Park and has lived here as an adult since 1990. She raised her two children here, and lives with her husband Arnie Shafer, a retired photographer.

Professionally Nancy is an attorney and principal in the Highland Park IL firm, Sage Counsel, LLC, concentrating in Matrimonial Law, including Litigation, Mediation and Collaboration, also accepting Child Representation and Guardian ad Litem appointments. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has received numerous professional accolades. A focus of her energies is to increase the education of professionals and the public on options for the divorce process and wise (sage) financial decisions, including Collaborative practice. Nancy is a frequent presenter and organizer at CLE programs. Nancy is also the California, Illinois and Minnesota sales rep for Family Law Software, www.familylawsoftware.com.

Active in the Democratic party in Lake County, she has been the Secretary of both the Tenth Congressional Democrats and the Moraine Township Democrats for many years. She also served for several years as the Chair of the Election Protection committee of the Tenth Congressional Democrats and as her local Democratic Precinct Committeeperson.
